Back in circa 2012/13 Gulfstream introduced the very capable G650.
The next move was to introduce the longer range version, the G650ER (“Extended Range ” for those who are not familiar with bizjet nomenclature).

The legerdemain required to add approximately five hundred nautical miles onto the G650 range consisted of a software tweak to the fuel system, a few days downtime, a sheaf of the requisite paperwork…and approximately two million dollars 😉
We now have the latest fly-by-wire version of the ULR (ultra-long-range) class of Gulfstreams, the G700.

It surely can’t be too long (G800 intro-to-service notwithstanding) before the fuel system software in the G700 gets the same G650ER treatment ?
No doubt similar results for the range increase, but this time in 2025 dollars !
